I imagine you’re here because you need a photographer. Whether you’re having a big ol’ wedding or a small intimate elopement, I just want to capture all the amazing fun you and your SO have.

My Style

I’d call it a weird fusion of fashion and documentary style photography, with just a little bit of quirk.

My Story

I’ve never been much for tradition, so you can imagine weddings were never really my “thing” when I first picked up a camera. People always told me never to photograph weddings and I didn’t second guess that opinion.

Even in terms of photography, I’ve always admired the unconventional. Photographers like Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, and David LaChapelle drew me in because they did something just a little odd and different. They’re also amazing storytellers in their own unique ways. The storytelling aspect of photography is actually what lead me into shooting weddings.

While I still wouldn’t call myself a “wedding person,” I have discovered that the wedding industry has been evolving away from the old cookie-cutter format and that is what keeps me doing what I do. My favorite weddings are the ones where the couple’s personalities show throughout the day rather than getting lost in all the things they “have” to do. I love being part of a day filled with so much love and excitement and what I aim to do is find you in all of it. Because weddings aren’t about fitting into a mold anymore – they’re about you getting to celebrate your love.

Sarah is outstanding! I’ve been a wedding planner for 14 years and I chose Sarah Rittenour photograph my daughters destination wedding in Todos Santos, Mexico (Baja California Sur). We had to plan it quickly and we stretched 3 small events over the course of 3 days and Sarah became an honorary family member.. probably at the first event! Her experience shines through and is so calm. She does an excellent job candidly capturing the authentic moments and was a pure pleasure to work with! I know she takes limited weddings per year and we ALL said how fortunate it was to have her there. She was always early, floated through the events no matter how far she trekked for those epic shots and appropriately pulling my daughter and husband aside for quick portraits (without missing any of the event!) She has a great sense of humor herself and helps you feel so comfortable in front of the camera… for those of us that are shy. This was 100% – a GREAT decision and if you are looking for a photographer, I strongly recommend you setting up a consultation with her! You’ll be so glad you did!!!

Sarah did an incredible job at our wedding! She took amazing photos that we will cherish forever and was so easy to work with. We had bad weather at our wedding but she managed to find the perfect opportunities to get amazing photos. We really cannot recommend her enough!

Sarah was amazing! Trough the hole process Sarah made us feel at ease and that she was on top of things. Shes humble and super attentive to our needs, really capturing our vision and then some. We loved working with her! Lets do it again! ?
